Listed below are the main dates for the project, more will be added as they are confirmed
The Inaugural day, 29th September 2009

Study Days
12th October, lectures to include Peter Duffy (the range of debates during the Victorian period over the purposes of art) and Angela Peers-David (the Great Exhibition and its exhibits).
5th November, a coach trip to the V&A, to include a talk by a guide on the Victorian Social paintings, and free time to view some of the other splendid Victorian collections in the museum, or the special Maharajah exhibition.
25th January, lectures to include Sarah Parry from Chawton House Study Centre (Setting the Scene for Victorian Writing), Alec Leggatt (Victorian Engineers) and Richard Thomas (Victorian Travellers in Africa).
12th February, lectures including the architecture group (Victorian architecture), Trevor Williams (Brunel), Angela Peers-david (A Victorian Social history).

5th October Victorian Underpinnings, what lay under those elaborate dresses by Cathy Flowerbond
2nd November The Tindle Lecture -The Victorian Vision by Caroline Dale
The founding of a great Victorian museum and its collections
11th January Vernon Lushington, Pre-Raphaelite, Friend of William Morris and Father of “Mrs Dalloway” by David Taylor
Although virtually unknown today, Lushington was influential in many events and fields that are themselves much better known.
8th February Victorian Valentine Cards with a Twist, a seasonal talk on an insulting topic by Annebella Pollen
There will be a Christmas Celebration on the morning of 7th December with a seasonal talk and the visit from a well-known author. This will conclude with mince pies and mulled wine.
To finish off the project there will be a grand Victorian Music-Hall on Friday afternoon, 19th March 2010. It is expected that Royalty will be present. All offers of acts considered.
There will be many open sessions during the two terms of the project, full details will be published and available on Registration Morning, 7th September.
