The
Farnham U3A Newsletter is ‘The Owl’. Why ‘The
Owl’? The story I like the best - and which epitomises our
movement - is that OWL stands for Older, Wiser - but still Learning.
The Owl is now published three times a year, mid-way through each
term. in February, June and October in a 20 to 24 page handy A5
format.
With
more than 70 groups in Farnham U3A it is clearly not possible to
include items on every single activity in each publication of The
Owl. I do endeavour to include a variety of contributions and I
recognise that some of our Group’s programmes change term
by term.
Usually, our Photographic Group has provided The Owl’s front cover. The February 2008 cover is a photograph taken by Brian Arthur at Singleton in 2006. This photograph and those on the back cover by Brian and Sheila Arthur, reflect our Mediaeval World project for this year – 2008. U3A Farnham will be visiting Singleton later this year to see Mediaeval buildings and to visit Goodwood house.

I would like to expand on this - so I do want photos, drawings and paintings from your Group as a possible front or back cover of the Owl. The format is approx 12.5 cm (5 inches) square and the subject needs to be simple, bold and high contrast.
I also welcome group reports, news stories, puzzles and articles from members about their own interests and activities.
I can cope with pretty much any sort of input - short of illegible! I do, however, prefer your contribution by email or on floppy diskette or CD. I will always acknowledge contributions by email but, sorry, not those by post or hand.
My thanks to all who have contributed to your newsletter, please do keep the articles coming
